Green Drinks Harare is an organic, self-organising networking group and part of the Green Drinks International network. It's a relaxed monthly social event where professionals and individuals interested in the environment and sustainability can mingle, share insights, inspire and delight each other.
We're excited to be holding our first networking event for 2024 on the 12th of April with Darlington Mafa and Chef Tafadzwa Anifasi.
We will be talking about the importance of supporting local food systems by sparking excitement for our local indegenous ingredients. These can be used in many more ways than the traditional meals we grew up knowing and loving. Expanding our use of these ingredients not only introduces new flavours to our meals - these superfoods are often more nutritious options.
In addition, growing the market for these ingredients helps us to achieve goals 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 of SDG#2 (Zero Hunger) by increasing the incomes of small scale food producers, promoting sustainable food production, strengthening capacity for adaptation to climate change and maintaining the genetic diversity of our crops.
